Aggressive Timelines Call for Dramatic SolutionsMarket pressure to perform creates unique obstacles for every company. Dramatic changes in the ever-dynamic pharmaceutical industry have created new challenges for one company, which needed a creative solution to quickly launch a new drug and gain a competitive advantage. But their drug launch distribution pipeline was clogged. And a late launch was out of the question, as millions of dollars of revenue would be lost. The creative solution? A quick, strategic acquisition. Company executives identified a niche pharmaceutical firm that possessed the necessary rights to launch new drugs in the United States. The target company was acquired, primarily for the purpose of launching the new drug. That was the easy part of the job. More difficult was assembling a team to integrate the firm while simultaneously orchestrating the drug launch. Any glitches would prevent the company from meeting its aggressive sales plan. For this special engagement with an aggressive timeline; the parent pharmaceutical firm realized the need for an experienced recruitment partner – one that understood mergers and acquisitions; could quickly recruit a national sales team; and could help meld the niche firm into the corporation. The parent firm selected HRworks as its HR partner, tasked with helping the company develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan. The talent strategy was a coordinated effort in evaluating internal candidates from both firms, and uncovering top talent in the marketplace. This holistic, single-point-of-contact approach hastened the acquisition transition and the timeline for the drug launch. In just eight weeks, HRworks successfully sourced and filled all regional and divisional sales manager positions. Additionally, HRworks supported the new district sales managers in filling key sales positions throughout the country. HRworks' recruitment team also focused on integrating the wholly-owned subsidiary, freeing the parent firm to leverage its marketing knowledge and financial support to propel the new venture. Thanks to HRworks' involvement in these large scale integration programs, the firm delivered a successful drug launch, propelled the rapid integration of the new company, and benefited from the acquisition and deployment of new talent. |
