Challenge

When companies undergo reorganization, new positions are often generated that need to be filled. Without a smooth transition, the restructuring process can cause more tribulations than improvements. A leading coffee company was faced with a hiring situation upon deciding to reorganize their HR department. The company chose to incorporate Learning Manager and Recruiting Manager positions throughout the Eastern region. Since the company was hoping to hire positions for six different geographic locations, they needed to facilitate the process through the use of a recruitment firm.

The company strongly believes in brand representation and candidate experience. Therefore, the company hoped to find a recruitment firm that would immerse itself in the company brand to provide excellent customer service to candidates. Although this was the company's main priority when selecting a recruitment firm, a cost-effective solution was also a strong consideration.

Strategy

The company believed that HRworks could successfully meet the company's preferred criteria in choosing a recruitment firm. HRworks delivered all sourced candidates into the company's applicant tracking system (ATS), Taleo, for consideration in future openings. Traditional firms typically present candidates to multiple clients for open positions. However, HRworks presented interested and qualified candidates to the company for a future hiring event.

HRworks suggested that the company host a two-day hiring event as a solution to enhance the candidate experience. Although the company was initially reluctant, HRworks assisted in facilitating and executing the entire interview process in Washington, D.C. HRworks representatives actually traveled to Washington, D.C. and coordinated logistics during the two-day event, which exceeded the company's expectations.

Despite time constraints that arose when the event dates were unexpectedly changed, HRworks was able to fill the positions of candidates that were unable to attend the event. When the event's logistics were adjusted, HRworks performed efficiently to guarantee that the event was successful.

Results

The company was impressed with HRworks' ability to recruit candidates and arrange for travel accommodations during the six weeks prior to the hiring event. Additionally, HRworks was able to present candidates at a lower cost than the traditional search firm.

The company overcame any objections to the hiring event and has utilized this process when filling additional positions. HRworks successfully represented the company and received positive feedback from many candidates, regardless of whether they received an offer. Through utilization of HRworks, the company was confident that their brand was well-represented and the candidates engaged in a unique experience.
